dutchbailey Posted October 4, 2004 Posted October 4, 2004 OK, how do I do this (restrict access to certain records based on the user) in FileMaker 6? I have 8 or 9 users and we all have access to the same "contacts" database. However some of the contacts are "personal" or "private" for some individual users. Others (most of them) are general contacts that can be accessed by all. I currently have a field with a dropdown that indicates which user the current record belongs to. With one of the options being "ALL". Is this the correct way of going about it? AND (to re-cap my question) how do I setup limited access to records based on the user login in FMP 6?
Computer Geek Posted October 12, 2004 Posted October 12, 2004 In the validation of the field(s) that you want to restrict, validate the user is in the group of allowed users.
