Can't open remote after latest OSX security update

We've been using Filemaker 6 to store student data for advising

students (what classes students are taking, what requriements they

still need to complete, etc.). After applying the latest security

patch to OSX ( 04 Oct 2004) to our server machine, no other machine

can open databases remotely hosted on this machine. Also, web companion

no longer works on machines with the security patch. That is:

Machine X (latest OSX security patch installed)

Machine Y (latest OSX security patch *not* installed)

Databases served on Machine X *cannot* be opened remotely on machine Y

Databases served on Machine Y *can* be opened remotely on machine X

Database using web companion on Machine X *can* be seen by outside world

Database using web companion on Machine Y *cannot* be seen by outside world

Advising for S05 is about to start, we need this fixed soon!

Any suggestions?

OK, I feel stupid now. The problem was that port 5003 was

blocked after the security update. Unblocking that fixed

"open remote", and unblocking the web companion port

fixed web access (though think I'll leave web access turned

off, and just allow users to get in through fx.php, which

is running on the same machine)
