Relationships across multiple layouts

Featured Replies

This should be basic, but I'm new and have read a lot of the posts, but haven't found the answer.

I have 2 files: Airport and FBO, with lots of fields in each. They both share an Airport ID which is unique. Each FBO at that airport will have a unique name. I have 3 buttons which point to 3 different layouts for updating different sections of the airport data, and I have 2 buttons for pointing to layouts which update the FBO data. There can be many FBOs at an airport and I need a way to select an FBO name for that airport from a drop-down list, then it needs to display info about that FBO on the two layouts.

From what I've seen of portals, they are usually a list of a couple of fields that can be displayed and updated within a browseable list. Since I have so much info, that won't work for me.

Thanks in advance.

Portal rows do not have to be only one line. You can make a portal row as big as you need.

You can use a portal with a buttons in it to take you to the related record and layout.
