Hi,

We just get a new Firebox X hardware (firewall, router, DHCP, etc...). After the installation of the configuration software (Watchguard Managment Software) we reboot the server (Dell PowerEdge 1750 with Dual Xeon and Win 2003 Server) and FileMaker Server Service won't start.

If we stop the Service for the Firebox X, no problem to restart FMServer 7 service...

Any idea regarding this sewrvices conflict ?

tks

Hi, EV! This is not my area but since no one else has chimed in, you may want to check to make sure that all the ports that FileMaker needs are open and not blocked by the firewall... sorry I don't remember the port numbers but they shouldn't be hard to find.

Firewalls tend to work best if you close everything and then only open those ports that you need. The hard part is finding out which ports you need for what functions. I remember going nuts trying to find out why I could not file share, and it turned out that even though the file sharing port was open, some of my client computers needed a ping handshake first and we had closed pings to prevent ping attacks.

Good luck!
