OMamed Posted October 14, 2004 Posted October 14, 2004 I have created a script that calls for an import of data from another database. I put in the information about which file to import the data from, and which fields should be imported, but the next time I enter the database, and run the script, FileMaker seems not to have saved the information. Under V6 you used to 'save' the updates, but under 7 this dialog does not come up. Is there some other way I should 'save' the changes to this import script? The files are both served from FMServer7. Thanks!
OMamed Posted October 18, 2004 Author Posted October 18, 2004 Is there additional information that I should supply folks who wish to assist? I would really appreciate some assistance on this. Thanks all!
stash Posted October 22, 2004 Posted October 22, 2004 when you do validate the fields(Import Field Mapping) on yor left-bottom side are the Import Action options. Usualy I do chech the "Update matching records in found set" and "Add remaining data" as new records. Also be sure you did right "Match records based on this field" option. But, if once you see your records stored after import then there is no other need to save them, just be sure next time you're gonna open the database where your downloads are.
