Linked PDFs in Runtime

Featured Replies

I have been creating databases that include links (in container fields) to PDFs. There is one PDF for each record.

I then often make run-time files that also include the links to the PDFs. I am having problems getting the PDF to open in the run-time. Sometimes it works, and sometimes it does not. I need to copy the run-time to CD, or to other computers.

I include the linked PDF in the same directory as the run-time.exe file. In some cases, the runtime appears to search the directory containing the runtime because it finds the PDF and opens the file. In other cases, I get a (Not found) error, but the PDF is still in the same directory as the run-time. I am assuming that the run-time does not actually search the current directory for the linked file, and I must be getting lucky to get this to work at all.

Any thoughts on what is happening and how to fix it?
