Problems trying to create email mailing list

I'll try to make this short...

I'm trying to make a mailing list database with FMP 7 where users on the internet or web can enter their name and email in a form and click submit to save the data to the FMP 7 database.

Is it possible to make an HTML form that will do this - that when the person fills out the HTML form and clicks submit, the data is sent to the filemaker database sitting on another server at another IP address and saved?

The other solution I've been trying to get work is the Instant Web Publishing feature to perhaps solve this problem. Well, I've set it up so I can access the database from the web, but I don't want users to be able to browse other records saved in the database, or even open the left Status Area or pane. I've tried to use a Startup script. It kind of works, but seems a little inconsistant. And it doesn't seem to lock the Status Area down when I click the "lock" option in the scriptmaker. I can still open the Status Area in my web browser on the left by clicking a small button when it's supposed to be locked down. Can anyone help with this.

I've read on Filemaker's website about something called Filemaker 5.5 or 6.0 Web Companion. What is this? Does it come with FMP 7? Filemaker's website says I can lock the Status Area down if I have this.

Anyway, can anyone help me figure this out? I'd really appreciate it! Thanks in advance!
