Heathbo Posted October 30, 2004 Posted October 30, 2004 I have a list of keywords. They are in a field with check boxes. An average record could have anywhere from 2-4 check boxes checked. What I'm trying to do is; if a certain keyword is selected(checked) I want to increase the value of a numeric field. This(below) doesn't seem to work. Case (Keywords = "Apples";+3) Since most records have multiple Keywords selected I need a way to increase or decrease the numeric value for each Keyword checked. What am I doing wrong? Any help you can give is much appreciated. Heathbo
MarkWilson Posted October 30, 2004 Posted October 30, 2004 PatternCount( KeyWords ; "Apples" ) + Substitute( PatternCount( KeyWords ; "Bananas" ) ; 1 ; 2 ) + Substitute( PatternCount( KeyWords ; "Grapefruit" ) ; 1 ; 4 ) + Substitute( PatternCount( KeyWords ; "Lemons" ) ; 1 ; 8 ) + Substitute( PatternCount( KeyWords ; "Limes" ) ; 1 ; 16 ) + Substitute( PatternCount( KeyWords ; "Oranges" ) ; 1 ; 32 ) If there is any possibilty that a second entry of the same value could be made you will require an alternate or revised test for true.
