Priviledge set - limit access to certain records.

Featured Replies

Dear All,

I am using 2 fields to limit access to some records.

Dept and School

However i tried to use the limit records feature and specify

Dept="science" , this works

Dept = "Science" and School ="Snr" This doesn't work

Wonder why the calculation field does not allow 2 fields??

or maybe i am just stupid. Thanks !

What do you mean when you say it doesn't work. This should allow access only if both are true. Is this what you want?

What doesn't work is there is not records shown at all despite the fact that

the record is from Science and Senior School.

i have tried and , & and +

only or works however is useless.

What is the syntax or expression??

I just made a simple file to check this. Records that do not match the AND conditions show "No Access". The record that matches shows the data.

I have set the privilege set to Records Custom, Layouts View only, Value Lists View only and Scripts All executable only. In Records View is Limited by the calculation, Edit is No, Create is No, Delete is No and Field access is All.

i think i know why, it is relationship problem because the field did not exist on the layout because it is a different database.

I use it as a database to control the Portal records, kinda like a show / hide records database as portal works by occurances something.

It's my error. Problem solved.

Thank you everyone!
