Newbies John Heinzmann Posted November 5, 2004 Newbies Share Posted November 5, 2004 I'm a newbie to Xserve. I just purchased a single processor Xserve G5 to run my Server 7. Can someone post detailed instruction on how to install and launch Filemaker Server 7 on a Xserve. This will be an internal server only, no need for web access etc. I purchased Apple Remote Desktop 2 and cannot figure this out either. I'm feeling pretty dumb right about now. Thanks! But do you have Desktop installed so that you can see your server on your client machine? If so, let me know, then I can help you get it all installed. rfranco Posted December 3, 2004 Share Posted December 3, 2004 The installation procedure for FileMaker Server is described in Chapter 2 of the Server Admin Guide (I believe the admin guide is located on the installation CD, or you can download it from FileMaker.com). After you install it, launch and setup the FileMaker Server admin application (you can find this procedure in chapter 3 of the Server Admin Guide).
