LarryLogic Posted November 9, 2004 Posted November 9, 2004 I have written a program that compares invoice.txt files to the cost files the customer expects to pay. I can import the files as delivered and all works well. Is there a way to automate the function of saving an Email attachment to a specific sub-directory? We may get 70 to 100 files a week and I don't want to open each email and save the attachment manually. They all come from the same place and we know the filename and subject text. The second issue: I can import the known filename automatically. There may be duplicate filenames come in within the week that all need to be imported. So, I need to change the file name on a duplicate and be able to handle it in my program. Can this be accomplished within filemaker or is there a program that will handle it? Larry
Fenton Posted November 10, 2004 Posted November 10, 2004 I'd go with the FileMaker plug-in POP3it. If you can dedicate an email address for receiving these, POP3it can check and receive directly into FileMaker, including the attachments. In FileMaker 6 it can do this automatically, at a user-specified interval, and run scripts at that time also. That part is not quite working in 7 yet :-[ http://www.pop3it.com
