Steven Cappiello Posted November 10, 2004 Posted November 10, 2004 I'm running Server 7 on a I'm running a database that has about 10 tables , 260 fields total, several calculated fields, and about 1000 records in the main table. It has plenty of relationships... blah blah blah.. I'm running Server 7 on a Mac with 10.3.6 Well, I just upgraded from a cube 450 G4 to a Dual 2Ghz G5.. with 2.5 Gb of Ram, and don't see such huge speed increases. It seems like it takes a while for the database to load over a network. My layouts have no pictures loading.. so I don't know what it's thinking about.. but I'd like to know! Could anyone offer any advice..?? or direct me toward some reading that talks about how to tweak Server 7 for speed ? or maybe just ask a few questions that could get me thinking about the right issues. Thanks the cache was set to 64mb by default but I tried turning that down to 4mb based on something i read about configuring server 6 for best use.
