Guest Posted November 19, 2004 Posted November 19, 2004 You can only use numbers and letters in the passcode on the FM server. This worked for me.
AnFrusch@pepp Posted November 29, 2004 Posted November 29, 2004 You can only use numbers and letters in the passcode on the FM server. This worked for me. The passcode is not the problem.. it is just related to the FileMaker Server and NOT to the Web Publishing engine. Are you shure the engine (service) is on? It should be running to work.
Armand Posted December 1, 2004 Posted December 1, 2004 Did you get anywhere on this problem authenticating the web publisher? I'm killing myself over the same problem.
AnFrusch@pepp Posted December 3, 2004 Posted December 3, 2004 Did you get anywhere on this problem authenticating the web publisher? I'm killing myself over the same problem. Hello, these are the steps I made to run the engine: 1) After installing the WPE I have called the /fmi/config page in Safari (IE as well). 2) I have created a new UserID and Pwd. 3) Moved to the WPE set up page and define the UserID and Pwd (I don't know if this is the key or not but I use th ) same values ) 4) Moved to FM server set up and I have specified the IP, and the passcode already saved in FM server consolle. 5) I usually restart my machine after every changes. I can only tell you that sometimes the WP engine is not running for a reason that I still not understand. So I keep on restart the service through the darwin shell window and restart the web server until it works properly. Is this a bug? I don't know.. there's a non sense in this procedure. that's all. Bye PS: under Windows Server to restart a service is quite simple than under Mac OS X (Unix shell commands).
Zero Tolerence Posted December 3, 2004 Posted December 3, 2004 I had this problem, or one like it. After I logged into the admin console the first time, I could do lots of things, after I quit or logged out, I could never log back in. Here was my fix Go to your server settings, and make sure that your password is being sent in "CLEAR TEXT". And, if that doesn't work, on your server machine, set up a user and password with the same things your using to log into the admin console of Web Publishing.
