Newbies klintman Posted November 12, 2004 Newbies Posted November 12, 2004 i'm trying to get an id card printing program called idworks to connect to my filemaker db using odbc. the idworks computer operates on windows xp pro. i'm using the odbc drivers that were installed with fm6. i'm able to get the idworks design program to recognize the fm db and then link tables and fields. however, when the time comes to actually access the information in production, the program freezes and so does the fm program running on the host computer resulting in a force quit. any ideas on what may be causing this? up until now the idworks program has been using a local access db. however, it does provide the option to use a remote odbc data source. thanks.
Newbies mc14702 Posted December 14, 2004 Newbies Posted December 14, 2004 Did you ever get any response on this? I am doing something similar and FM support told me it is because I have too many records.
Newbies klintman Posted December 15, 2004 Author Newbies Posted December 15, 2004 no, i didn't get any response. "too many records" is be a possible explanation; i've thaught about that. i've got 13,000 now and potentially 20,000 soon. how many are you dealing with?
