Just bought this plugin for use with FM6.In my scenerio I have 2 users, A & B. Can User A use it to open up "external" files (i.e pdf or word docs) that are stored on User B's hard drive?

Sure! But why use the Troi File Plug-In to do that? This plug-in will do just about anything you want with a file except just "plain" open it. You can use FileMaker's internal open commands for that.

Supposing that user A & B have the same software installed (Adobe Acobat, MS Word, etc....) User A can easily open/change a file on User B's computer.

Use the 'open' script command to point it to the file in question. This works great IF 1) The filename is know, and stays consistant 2) User B's computer is turned on 3) User A has network access to User B's computer.

If the filename isn't know, then you can just set up a button to execute the "open" command. This will display an "Open File" windows. User can then navigate to wherever the file is.
