Portal showing only first related record...

I created a portal to display related records and chose to sort them by date.

However the portal is showing the same record over and over again (significantly, the number of repitions equals the number of related records), rather than showing each unique record.

Oddly enough, this problem arose when making a new portal utilizing a copy of a relationship in order to create a new layout with a different portal sort order.

The portals using the original relationship work just fine; but the duplicates of the relationship have this problem....

Hi Barker, and welcome to FM Forums!

It sounds as if you have a native field (that is, one not pulled through a relationship) in a portal. If you show the proper number of lines according to the number of related records, you have probably structured the relationship correctly; just change the field(s) in the portal to related fields (with the double-colon at the front).

HTH,

Jerry

Thanks so much for your reply! We noticed that we were using the "old" related fields, and recreating new field boxes helped to solve the problem.

Thanks again for your input.

For others reading this post, additional related records won't show up if they are not physically "inside" the portal box completely. I ran into this problem and my fields were actually 1 pixel too high. It drove me nuts!

Just thought I'd share.
