Barbecue Posted November 25, 2004 Posted November 25, 2004 Inspired by recent conversions to learn more about the new syntax of the Substitute() function, I have implemented a simple enchefalizer as a custom function. This is a brute force approach. I will next attempt a slightly more intelligent approach using recursion. enchefalizer.zip
Vaughan Posted November 25, 2004 Posted November 25, 2004 OK, two things... 1) also post it to Brian Dunnings web site, which is rapidly becoming THE repository for FMP custom functions. http://www.briandunning.com/filemaker-custom-functions/ 2)What's an "enchefalizer"?
Barbecue Posted November 26, 2004 Author Posted November 26, 2004 http://www.almac.co.uk/chef/chef/chef.html http://mysite.verizon.net/ebrowne72/chef/ The Enchefalizer/Encheferizer program was a useless but amusing program CGI that took normal English text and converted it to resemble the mock Swedish spoken by the Swedish Chef character from the Muppet Show. Google provides a Swedish Chef version of their user interface... http://www.google.com/intl/xx-bork/ Bork-style translation is occasionally used as programming assignment in school, because it's a simple demonstration of linguistic parsing. It's also an internet in-joke phenomenon akin to the Monty Python spam sketch and "All your base are belong to us."
