Newbies Kevin Posted September 27, 2000 Newbies Share Posted September 27, 2000 I've a problem with date fields reverting to the American format mm/dd/yy . Is there a way of setting filemaker to only use the european format in date fields ? that is dd/mm/yy . I can represent these dates in European format, but they need to be initially entered in American and also any find requests have to be entered in american format. I.ve recently upgraded our system to 5.0 from 4.0 . Any new files that a create in 5.0 and use a date field seem to be all right with regard to the format . It's only files that I upgraded from 4.0. Someone else here might have more experience with this, but have you tried running a script when the document opens that has Set Use System Formats [On]? Newbies Kevin Posted October 2, 2000 Author Newbies Share Posted October 2, 2000 Got a solution on another board . By creating a clone with no records on my new version 5.0 and then importing all the records from my previous version in, the date format is set to European.
