December 7, 200421 yr Can anyone throw some light on this before I go insaner? I have a print layout with a sub-summary (before) used as a sub-heading, followed by detail records. Really unique! The detail consists of name and address lines - the usual stuff. All sliding up and left. The sub-heading need not be present. When the sub-heading is present, there is a gap between the name (the first field) and the first address line. This gap is about the equivalent of a line. The rest of the address is spaced correctly. If the sub-heading is absent, the spacing is fine. I've checked that all fields are single-spaced. I've moved the address portion up until it sits almost on top of the name but this mucks up the non-subheading entries and still leaves a (smaller) space. The name field is a calculation, using looked up values, and the address lines are straight looked up values. Cannot imagine why this should have any bearing.
December 8, 200421 yr Author I love this forum!! Only have to enter a post and the solution appears even before it's been answered. For any other stupids out there - I had a 'Spacer' field containing either a space or nothing, next to the name line. Hadn't made it sliding up, etc.
