Symbol font will not work (Mac X, FM 7). Fix?

Featured Replies

Symbol font worked fine in earlier FM versions but it will not work with 7. Old records with it seem intact as well. And it does work in other programs--Quark, Word. Any fixes? I'm on Mac 10.3

Howdy, ad! I hope you resolved this by now (> 1 month ago), but if not... I don't think your problem is with "Symbol", per se. Font issues can occur for a variety of reasons and there are a number of different types of fonts have worked with macs in the past. In 10.3, I believe fonts are primarily stored in at least 1 of 3 different locations...

Unfortunately, I am not expert enough to tell you which types of font formats are compatible with a pure X system (PS1, PS2, TrueType, bitmap, etc.) but if you have OS9/Classic fonts installed, they SHOULD be availble to any OS X application. OS X fonts, however, are not accessible to 0S9/Classic applications. Either way, though, FM is probably having a problem with the font's format, location, integrity, or fontID conflict kind of thing.
