Newbies Darin Posted December 22, 2004 Newbies Posted December 22, 2004 Hi and sorry if this has been covered but I have looked and cant find it.. I am running FMP5 Client, Standalone and server. I am wanting to get all my data from Filemaker into a "Tab or "Comma Delimited format. Basically in a text file so I can try and use this info in another software. Is there complete instructions somewhere on how to do this? Thank you, Darin
QuinTech Posted December 22, 2004 Posted December 22, 2004 Hi, Darin, and welcome to FM Forums! You can export to several file formats from the File > Export Records option. Keep in mind that csv and tab formats do not export field headers/field names; you would need to use the .mer format for this, which is basically a csv with headers. HTH, Jerry
Newbies Darin Posted December 23, 2004 Author Newbies Posted December 23, 2004 Thanks for the info however when I goto file the "EXport" filed is greyed out and I cant click or select it. I am running server, stand alone and web server.. Or something like that.. It takes three applications for my data to run on the net. Any other suggestions? I really appreciate it.
QuinTech Posted December 27, 2004 Posted December 27, 2004 Sounds like you don't have permissions to export data. Talk to the original designer. J
Newbies AATELJ Posted January 6, 2005 Newbies Posted January 6, 2005 I've been exporting to .csv and to .tab but whenever I try to import into other programs, it says "this file does not appear to be in a tab- or comma-delimited format. I have been trying to import an email list for three days and CANNOT make it work...help?
