Some table help

Featured Replies

How do I use the same field name for all the colums of 12 different layouts and keep results of each layout individual without changing all of them at same time in the same fp5 file.

Can you rephrase the question?

Ok I am making a 12 month billing sheet I want all layouts to contain the exact same field names at the top of each colum yet the data in each table able to be changed individually. I made the 12 billing sheets layout with the exact same data for all of them not realising if you changed one thing on any of them it changes them for all. So I went in duplicated 11 field names now when I create the tables january looks fine but all other months tabels have the word copy and a 1-11 beside it. I want to be able to make all tables independent and have the same colum names throughout the whole FP5 file.

First off, let's be clear what you mean by "tables;" FM6 does not support tables, only FM7. Are you using FM7?

Second, when you duplicate a field named "January," the default name given to it is "January Copy." You can change this field name in the Define Fields dialog; in your case, you might change the field names to "February," "March," ... This should solve the issue you are seeing with the labels.

Third -- you want to make all tables independent? I'll wait to answer that one until you clarify whether you are using FM6 or FM7.

HTH,

Jerry
