Hi! I'm new to Filemaker 7 pro, and I've got to learn it for work. I'm currently trying to do a forum to get used to fm. I now ahve some problem. I have a layout (display_forum) that displays the forum, then if you click on the name of the forum, it will go to a layout that show the thread in that forum (display_thread) I used go to related, but on the thread layout, it displays only 2 thread out of a total of 4, but it display 1 thread that is in the forum, and another one that aint in the forum. I dont know if you understand what I mean, but I need to know how to have access to the record that are like SELECT * FROM thread WHERE forum_id=(the forum id I just clicked to load display_thread). well, I hope you get what i mean, I will check out for some clarification. thanks in advnce

got it! it was a relationship things... but what if now I want to save a 'reply' with the parent 'thread' id in the thread_id field of the reply table...
