Newbies Ezlxq Posted January 13, 2005 Newbies Posted January 13, 2005 I'm an FMP novice, moving up from Appleworks. I like it! I've inherited a database, one of whose layouts has non-field objects in the header part. When I look at the layout in preview mode the objects are invisible. If I create my own layout and put objects in the header, they are always visible in preview no matter how I view the layout. If I copy the objects from the first layout into mine, they disappear in preview. I can't find any explanation of this behaviour anywhere, even in the Filemaker Bible. Can anyone explain by what alchemy these objects can be made to vanish in preview mode? (PS: this post should be in the layouts forum, but there's no obvious way to do this in the post editor)
Walter B Posted January 13, 2005 Posted January 13, 2005 Go into layout mode, click on the particular object(s) and then go Sliding/Printing in the Format menu. Deselect "Do not print the select objects" You should now be able to see the objects in preview mode and on printouts. This function is very helpful, in that it allows you to put script buttons and other item on a layout for functionality, that you may not want printed out on a report. Hope this helps
