RPEugene Posted January 13, 2005 Posted January 13, 2005 Apologies if this has been asked elsewhere. I searched, but did not find. . . I am using Server 7 Advanced (new user) and I was wondering if one can set the backup feature to do "archive" backups. That is to say, rather than overwriting the backup file each time, can it maintain separate files for each backup, allowing the administrator to return to the database(s) in previous states? If this isn't possible, any recommendations (short of doing it manually) for (semi-) automating such a procedure. (I use Mac OSX). Thanks for ideas!
stanley Posted January 13, 2005 Posted January 13, 2005 The way I set it up is to have one automated backup which runs every day, always to the same location. Then I have a couple of other ones, which run once a week and write to other locations. This way, if something has gone haywire and it wasn't caught for a few days, there is always a good backup from which to work. -Stanley
