Where are my checkboxes?

Featured Replies

I am trying to use checkboxes, and they aren't showing anymore. I have about 30 layouts using them, and they are all fine. Now on new layouts I try to use them and the values come up, but now actual boxes. They appear if you left click on them, but cannot be selected and disappear when the cursor moves.

How can this be, and how can I make it right again? Thanks for any help!

The same happens with radio buttons too. What is going on?

Try changing the pen color to black or something.

Thanks, but it is already black and I tried anyway, but that didn't work.

How about line thickness and border properties?

  • Author

nope that isn't it either. Thanks though! I don't think I changed anything between the layouts (I wouldn't know how to anyway) this is such a mystery to me.

Cannot be selected? That's strange. Can you post the file?

  • Author

I'm a total newby, could you please tell me how to post the file?

Candice:

First, your file has to be compressed as a .zip file or as a stuffit archive. Second, click "reply" (not "quick reply"), and at the bottom of the resulting window, after you've written your post, make sure that the "I want to preview my post and/or attach a file" checkbox is checked. By default, it already should be. Then you get to where you can review your post. Click "choose file", pick your file, then click "OK, Submit" and you're done.

Candice:

In your layout "capstone", for example, you've got radio buttons that do not appear. The problem is that the color is set to white and the line thickness is set to None. In the Format-->Field Borders dialog, set the color to black, and set the line thickness to one point, and your radio buttons will appear.

The problem is with the last pages. That is where the checkboxes are not showing.

One point to keep in mind: If you select the field (checkboxes or radio buttons) in question, and then set borders, thicknesses, etc., those changes will be applied to the selected field(s).

If, on the other hand, no fields are selected, the settings you choose will become the defaults for any newly-added fields and will not apply to any fields already on the layout.

Thank you Stanley, you are the best!
