school year

this must have been asked a million times but that won't stop me!

is there a way to create a "school" year where the year is from, say, Sept. 15, any year to Sept 14, any year? So the "year" would then not be Jan 1 to Dec 31 but Sept 15 to Sept 14...

I'm sure there's plenty of ways to do this type of thing, but which one might be best would depend on exactly how you plan to use it. Perhaps if you give some more information, I can offer some suggestions on the best way to proceed. Why do you need to do this? What do you need to do that isn't currently working with the calendar year?
