Is generation of a Table of Contents possible?

I've been searching the web relentlessly for info on the best way to generate a Table of Contents in a lengthy report, and surprisingly, what I find is next to nothing on the subject. Is it not possible?

I'm posting in this forum because I'm hoping that calculation fields will be the solution (vs. a script).

Any help is appreciated.

I just helped someone with a similar request (although it may not be what you need.) Search the Forums for "Table of Contents" and you should find a thread that just ended a day or two ago.
