Locking CAPS-LOCK on startup

hi, i was wonderin if it is possible to lock the CAPS-LOCK "on" at startup of FMP, i know there is a way of checkin if it is "On" or "Off" (getmodifierkeys or something like that) but how can i switch it "On" B)?:?:

I don't know that there is a way to do this at all, but of course you can format all of your fields to "Uppercase" (in the Format->Font selection) and everything will APPEAR as though caps-lock is on. You can run into trouble with this, though, as your data is NOT going to be all caps. That, you'd have to do via scripts, or via secondary calculated fields.

With FMP 7 you might be able to do an auto-enter calculation that sets the field to Upper() if capslock is off. Or something.

Not tested, just an idea.

IMO: It is a mistake to use all CAPS in modern databases. All CAPS are hard to read, and worse: if you change your mind later and all your data is in CAPS, it's hard to clean up.

I agree. I've got a client who thought they wanted all-caps, and is now in the tedious process of having to manually re-enter everything...
