BAZ Posted July 2, 2001 Posted July 2, 2001 Hi to all, I have a problem with a Date field in one of my databases; the field is defined as 'Date' type, and in the 'Validation' section, it is validated as 'Strict data type : 4-Digit year date'. In one of the layouts I'm entering the date in that field in the format : dd/MM/yyyy, and as soon as I tab out from that field, the date format turns into MM/dd/yyyy. It is a very strange thing, because this started happening only yesterday, and it was working fine before that. I'm not also sure if this is a problem with windows or FM. More information My databases are hosted on a Windows NT 4.0 server, and we have a TCP/IP network. The machine which has the problem has Windows Mellenium. I checked the system date format and it is 'dd/MM/yyyy'. I have also tried to restore thes ystem to an earlier date, but it didn't work. I have also tried reinstalling FileMaker, but still no use. If anyone can help me with this, I'd aprreciate it very much, and thanks in advance.

You can specify a date to display differently in different layouts, and as the problem is only with one layout, you should go to that layout, change to layout mode, click on the field and then click on format, Date... and check the format set there. Hope this helps.
BAZ Posted July 2, 2001 Author Posted July 2, 2001 Hi again, Thanks proton for your answer, but the problem is that this database is used by many users, and only this user is facing the problem....any idea ?!!!
