spiritbear Posted February 9, 2005 Posted February 9, 2005 I have installed FM7 on my other Windows 2000 machine. Everything seems to be working fine. I have copied to CD a FM db from my Windows xp machine and when I open it on the 2000 it will not let me do a thing with it even though I did assign an account to it. Keeps saying: "This action cannot be performed because this file is not modifiable." Any ideas?? Is there a trick to saving on CD in order to open on another machine??
PoweredbyFm7 Posted February 10, 2005 Posted February 10, 2005 Yes, of course. if you opened the file at the CD, Filemaker can not access it and modify. You can solve the problem with 2 ways: 1-Please copy it from CD to your HDD, 2- then change its read only attribute as archive. Not read only.
spiritbear Posted February 10, 2005 Author Posted February 10, 2005 Oh that Bill, putting in those tricky little extras. I did try your idea but still no luck until I unchecked Archive as well. And sure enough I'm in!! Thanks alot. Love this forum!
