Im stumped, checked all my video drivers, windows XP is fully updated, both computers are identical. But the other one wont show the ******* layout! im so frustrated please help me resolve this annoying issue.

Adam,

Do you have different account privileges set up? I'm guessing the top picture is with full privileges and the bottom with restricted privileges.

no, they both log in under the same name and password. the computer with the problem is actualy the computer sharing it.

I thought maybe it was something to do with the video card, so I replaced it. and still the same thing.

I really dont think its a problem with sharing or loging in, it shows all the data and layout fine if I zoom it out, but at the high resolutions i need to run on the computer its to small and hurts our eyes. both computers run at the same resolution, also besides showing layout, and record text if you look closely the boxes dont have that nice eyecandy indent, and dont show the accents and borders. its like the program is a mental retard or something. heh

Adam,

Do you experience the same type of problem with other programs? For example if you have a Word Document at 100% and then change the zoom to something like 150%, do they look different? Although with Word, you may not have the same situation because you are looking at just text and not objects such as buttons, fields and labels.

SYMPTOMS

When you zoom out to less than 100% in Print Preview mode, some lines in a control or a graphic are not displayed correctly.

CAUSE

This issue can occur because of rounding errors and aliasing. The computer interprets the image as a series of dots (pixels). This tends to create a jagged pattern (called aliasing) for displaying curved and diagonal line patterns. If you zoom in to more than 100%, aliasing is not used.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

Ok well the issue is resolved, I was looking into the antialiasing thing, and well the video card that was in there didnt even support it (piece of crap diamond cards) I took the card out of a newer system I recently made in the office and pluged it in and bam, problem resolved. So if anyone has this problem just buy a cheap NVIDIA card, the card that works wonderful is a Geforce 2.. The biggest problem is probibly drivers, diamond multimedia has no ongoing support for drivers. Thats why Nvidia is so great, they always update.
