I have tried to uses the Troi Serial Plugin v2.5 with FileMaker 7 on Windows XP & 2000. With a dispatch script by name FM crashes when data is received. By key does not seem to work at all. The debug option will beep when data is received. The email I received from Troi said both should work but not to use the alternative method. Any ideas?

Hi, I've experienced the same but if you use :P

External("Serial-SetSetting";"-AlternativeScriptTriggerOff")

it works fine. Like me, you probably assumed the alternative triggering would be off by default, but apparently not. This fixes it though.
