Connecting a Mac app. to a FM database

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have this problem, perhaps someone already tried.

I developed an application plug-in (macintosh), with this plugin I make ODBC connections to a MS SQL server (using openlink drivers), to this point works all fine. What I want to do now is to connect via ODBC to a filemaker database (either mac or pc). Is there a driver to do that?

Thanx

Ernesto

Filemaker 7 can act as an ODBC host, but only on the windows platform. Just look under sharing....odbc in the file menu.

Thanks for your reply Reed.

If I place the database on a win machine and share it via ODBC, as you say, should I be able to access it on the mac machine? But with certain drivers, isn't?

I already tried this scenario with not sucess at all, on the mac returns an error, something about a cursor.
