March 14, 200520 yr Author Newbies This is a request from a complete newbie. I am testing out FM7 with the trial version at the moment but what I want to do is open a microsoft access database? in FM7. Is this possible? I keep getting a message stating that FM7 doesn't recognise the file type. I need to do this because my school use the database for recording pupils performance and writing end of year reports. As I use a mac I can't use access and it's causing me a lot of work. Any body got any ideas?

March 15, 200520 yr No. It's like trying to open a Quark Express file in MS Word. The best you can do is open the Access fil in Access and EXPORT the data out in tab or comma separated format. Then IMPORT the data into a FMP database that has the same fields: FMP 7 will create the field for you automatically if you try to open a tab or comma separated export file.
