separation model - can't delete data file records

After setting up my separation model (interface, business, data) I now get an error message when trying to delete data file records (directly from a data file layout):

("This operation cannot be performed because one or more of the relationships between these tables are invalid.")

I have checked all relationships for proper delete rights - to no avail. My interface file has 0 records, just layouts, scripts etc., my business file has calcs and globals.

Doubtless I am overlooking something simple, but any thoughts? Thanks in advance!
