New_2_FM
I am working on converting an application from filemaker pro 3.0 to filemaker pro 7.0. In FileMaker pro 3.0, the primary file uses file extension .fm, the rest of auxiliary files use file extension .fm_. do I need to change their file extension to .fp7? Vaughan
No. Leave the old files as they are. You need to convert the files to the new file format using FMP 7.

New_2_FM
But the filemaker server 7 could not open files with extension ".fm_", since underscore is not recognizable when I tried to register ".fm_" in the server.

Vaughan
That's because FMS 7 can only open FMP 7 files. You need to convert older file formats to FMP 7.

New_2_FM
I did files conversion. I placed all files to the server. For files with file extension ".fm_", they could be opened in the filemaker pro 7.0, but they could not be hosted by the server. It show up as file missing. thanks. New_2_FM
It seems that I will have to change the file names (almost 50 of them) for them to be able to be hosted by the FileMaker Server 7.0. But that means it will involve with lots of file reference updates. Any idea? Jackson
