Will Brown Posted March 17, 2005 Author Posted March 17, 2005 Hi, Here is an easy one (maybe), but I couldn't figure it out. In a list report, how do I number each list line entry with a sequential number, beginning with the number one? Thanks, Will

BobWeaver Posted March 18, 2005 Posted March 18, 2005 You can insert the characters @@ in the layout. It will be replaced with the record number, or if in a portal, the portal row number.

Will Brown Posted March 18, 2005 Author Posted March 18, 2005 Oh, one other thing. I added a period after the @@ and aligned it right, but the text box takes up a lot of room and I can't make it any smaller. It must expect maybe up to a six digit (or more). Is there anyway to reduce its width? Thanks

bikergeek Posted March 18, 2005 Posted March 18, 2005 Just set the text alignment to align right, and place the right edge where you want it. If the number is never larger than two digits, you'll never notice the difference, right?
