March 18, 200520 yr Author hello. I have a text field in a table, which has information the user can type into. It's about 4 lines high in the data entry form. However, you can put a lot of text in there... obviously if you print that form, you only can see the first 4 lines of text. is there a way to create a report, which will expand the field - or grow the height to show all the text in that field? It could be the text is only 4 lines - but it could be that the text is many lines and there should be a way to adjust that dynamically.. is there? how do you do it? thanks for you help in advance, sincerely, J__

March 18, 200520 yr It's the other way around: make the field on the layout bigger then you need, then use the Sliding/Printing options to shrink the field to fit the smaller amount of text.

March 18, 200520 yr Newbies If i have multiple items in a Portal Setup, the records in the Portal is linked to another table. The height of each item in the portal is determined during the Layout design, the report will no longer be able to expand the height of the item nor shrink it. How can I overcome this problem?

March 22, 200520 yr Author Vaughan, Thanks for the response. I actually was thinking about the sliding stuff and wondered if that was the way to go. But I figured I should ask, you never know when there is some slick trick to do something. thanks for the help, i appreciate it, sincerely, J__
March 23, 200520 yr Author Thanks for the response. I still have a problem though. I have a Project with 1 or more Tasks. In teh Header I have all the project fields - and 2 fields, which are doing the sliding. The thing is that if all slide up, the my detail - the tasks are way at the bottom of the page and there is a big gap of white space. Is there anyway to get the Body to slide up? thanks, J__
March 27, 200520 yr When you format for sliding, make sure you select "Reduce the size of the enclosing part"
