printing layout containing portals

Featured Replies

I have a layout set up with two portal windows formated the way I would like the records displayed. Both using a self-relationship, date=:P:date. At the top of the layout I have the date field displayed so that in find mode I can query a date and have all related records appear in the portals. This works fine the trouble I am having is when I want to print. If there are 10 records associated with 3/15/05, all ten records are displayed in the portals but when I print filemaker wants to print 10 pages, one for each record. I get 10 copies of the layout showing all 10 records in the portals.

If I am in list view I can scroll down and see the 10 images of my layout, when in form view I can click through all 10 records...mirror images.Am I making sense???

How do I get around this? I know I can perform a find on the date field without the portals and get the records I want but the format I want isn't possible with as a list or table.

Thanks

In the Print dialog, you can choose to print just the current record. Bear in mind that printing portals has it's problems. Sliding of portals and printing portals over page breaks can be problematic.
