FileMaker Pro 3.0 slows down FileMaker Server 3.0

I manages a FileMaker Server 3.0 on a windows 2000 server. I also have FileMaker Pro 3.0 installed on the same server, just in case I need to perform file's inconsistent check or recover files. Sometimes the FileMaker Pro 3.0 runs in the back and seems sharing the files with FileMaker Server. It brings up the CPU usages to 70-80%. It really slows down the application.

Any idea?

thanks,

Yikes!

DON'T run them both at the same time, on the same machine. Stop the server, then open FileMaker Pro

smile.gif I never run them both at the same time. While I use the FileMaker Server 3.0 hosting files, sometimes the FileMaker Pro 3.0 process shows up in the Windows Task Manager Processes. It slows down the server performance. I just wonder why the FileMaker Pro 3.0 process come up.

thanks,

Jackson

I found the answer.

actually one of the scheduled tasks starts the filemaker pro 3.0. sometimes it completes without error, so it closes itself. sometimes it encounters error, it just hang there and slows down the server.
