Exiting a record to find another student

Featured Replies

Another problem...

I have a student behaviour db:

student_name (value list from another db)

time_out_id (auto-enter serial)

various fields

I have a script for new record which allows me to enter data...

but if I go to another layout to select another student...to view their record before creating a new record...I can select another student but their name goes into the record of the student I just entered information for together with their own previous records...

How can I exit the record, "freeze the record" then find a new student...

Help please

TIA

PS

If I hit New Record...nothing happens to the old records...only the last record

But if I'm looking at an old record then go to new student...after selecting the new student their name replaces the name of the student in the old record...

eg time_out 005...name is Billy Bloggs...but if in then go to the search student layout...find a different student... their name is substituted for Billy Bloggs

Is it because I am searching on a value list?
