Fun with external authentication

Featured Replies

I've installed Filemaker 7 Advanced Server and recently updated to 7.0v3. Filemaker 7 Adv Server is currently residing on a Windows 2000 sp4 member server. I have set the options in Filemaker Server to use external authentication. I set the directory settings and the event log says it registered with the directory successfully. On the domain controller, i created an fmsadmin group, added my network login (i belong to admin group), have a filemaker file from our current version 6 system (filemaker server 6 is on a different server than 7), added the fmsadmin user in the file security with full access privelage set with the fmmapp extended privalege set.

I installed Filemaker pro (version 7.0.v3) onto my windows 2000 pro PC.

I click the Remote button, choose the filemaker server (using the local view, doesnt show in ldap although I set that up) and it prompts for password to hook to the Filemaker 7 server. I enter my network login and it does not accept it. I have to enter the Filemaker admin account to get the database list. I choose the database file and get prompted for login. Again, my network login will not work, i have to enter the filemaker security admin account. What step am I missing? Thanks in advance.
