AJB_UMASS Posted March 24, 2005 Posted March 24, 2005 OK - I'm officially baffled. Is it possible to use a FM7 client to query a MySQL database that runs on a separate server? Even though the MySQL people provide a driver for OS X, I can't get FM7 to 'see' it, let alone use it. Also - when you run an SQL query from a FM7 machine, where does the result get 'put'? The scripting command for running an SQL query doesn't seem to have any way to specify a destination for the data. Thanks in advance, AJB
Newbies vjl Posted April 6, 2005 Newbies Posted April 6, 2005 Check OpenLink's MySQL driver: http://uda.openlinksw.com/odbc/st/odbc-mysql-st/. It costs $99 per seat though! I just posted a question here asking if the free MyODBC has been able to be used with FMP6, so perhaps someone can shed some light on that. /vjl/
Jonathan Monroe Posted April 10, 2005 Posted April 10, 2005 Actual Technologies offers an ODBC driver for MySQL that works great with FileMaker on OS X. See the FAQ for information on using the driver with FileMaker. The driver is $29.95 and includes a free non-expiring demo mode.
