Newbies Skimblz Posted October 11, 2001 Newbies Posted October 11, 2001 I'm trying to find a way to set some status fields, in particular CurrentNetworkChoice. I want to have a particular network protocol (TCP/IP) verified. If it is not TCP/IP. I want to set it to that and then have my script pop a message saying you will need to restart the application. That part is easy, as is the checking the protocol. But short of popping open the Application preferences, I don't know how or if I can script the network choice change. Any ideas???
David McKee (Protolight) Posted October 11, 2001 Posted October 11, 2001 The status functions are only indicators. You cannot change their values via calc/script. Like you said, the best you can do is do a show message with instructions, then from a utility/blank db in the solution, close all the other files, and open the app prefs dialog from a util.
Newbies Skimblz Posted October 11, 2001 Author Newbies Posted October 11, 2001 David, Thanks for the reply. Not the answer I was looking for. I had noticed you can change the multi-user status via script and was hoping that I could do the same with the NetworkChoice. Oh well. Paul
