Newbies newby Posted April 5, 2005 Newbies Posted April 5, 2005 I am creating a research database using medical records. You should probably also know that I am extremely new to FileMaker Pro, so I'm not quite sure what I'm doing. I have a very long value list of medications in alphabetical order that takes a long time to scroll through. Is there any way to just type the first letter of the drug and have it jump to that section of the list? Thank you! Newby
Zero Tolerence Posted April 5, 2005 Posted April 5, 2005 Make it a Pop-up List. When you click, the menu pops up, and start typing and it goes to it. Now as far as filtering out things in your list that do not begin with the letter you typed in, I'm positive it can be done, but it seems like it would be very complex, maybe one of our Smart members can help you if you need that.
RalphL Posted April 5, 2005 Posted April 5, 2005 FileMaker should do this. Have you tried to do it? Have you considered dividing the list into sections, say by type of medication. You could choose type and then display a shorter list.
