Alright - it seems that this must be extra easy but my mind is drawing a complete blank at the moment.

I have 2 FILES (FMP-7) - one is a calander solution, the other is my database. I would like to be able to enter my appointment information within my database, and have it Automatically make that cooresponding appointment in the calander.

It seems like it should be simple, but I am having a hard time. I have made occurances, and checked allow creation of records - but cant seem to get a record to create in the Calander solution, with the data I am entering in my main database file frown.gif

I think I could do it by having a button with a script attached that set all the info to Globals, and then ran a script in the calander that gathered them... But there must be an easy/basic way I am not thinking of???

Hope someone out there can help me :{ Thanks - The Newbie

Do your really need an entire duplcate. Use a relationship between the DB and the calendar based on the appt. date.

You enter the data and the calendar show the appt.

Still trying to figure this out...

Which File would I make that relationship in? Both? Also should it just auto enter in the calendar? Or do any fields I enter in my 'main' database need cooresponding fields in the calendar using look-ups or something? Really feel like I am confusing myself more than necessary - is there anyone else out there with some input/insight?

I am not sure how your calendar file is setup both most I have seen or design use 7 date fields one each for Sunday thru Saturday. First create 7 tables base on Appt. (ie. Sun Appt, Mon Appt etc..). Then relate date to days date in calendar. Once you have that add 7 portals to your calendar layout. one for each day and based on the related table. I have example of a calendar I design and I will add a simple appt. table to illusrate the relationships.
