Translating Numbers to Text

Is there a way to translate numbers

into text as when writing a check? I would like to put a number into a

FileMaker Pro field and have my file create the corresponding English

words. For example, if I enter $11.38 in my number field then Eleven

and 38/100 Dollars would appear in a text field.

I think there was a calc posted to www.databasepros.com some time ago. Note that by nature the calculation has a hard-coded limit. I think it was 1,000,000 or something.

I saw this discussed in the Filemaker usenet group last week (alt.databases.filemaker? I can't remember the exact name of he group). You should be able to turn it up with some judicious searching in Google Groups.

One of the replies had a *German* version of the script. English speakers can only imagine ...

Okay, I found my old post on this subject. Turns out that it's Number to Text in Spanish, which I guess shouldn't be a problem for you, except that it's Bob's Spanish

The English version will work pretty much the same way, but should be a bit simpler.
