calendar to julian date conversion

Is there a calculation or other method which will convert calendar dates into julian date format?

JulianDate = GregorianDate-13

GregorianDate = JulianDate+13

This should work for dates from 1901 to 2099. For dates outside this range, you will have to adjust the offset.
