Sari Posted April 19, 2005 Posted April 19, 2005 All of a sudden nobody can modify any records on our database which is held on the server. Over the weekend I downloaded the file to my desktop and did some alterations. I then uploaded the file back onto the server. Since then, nobody but me has been able to modify anything in the file from the server. We've never been able to have the file open by more than one person anyway! I can reopen the file on my computer and modify anything as an administrator and as anybody else. However, even I can't open the file on the server or any other computer as administrator. I'm sure it must be something simple but darned if I can find it! Incidentally, I've posted this here because I thought it might be some thing to do with accounts and sharing but if there's a better place, please let me know.
Ender Posted April 19, 2005 Posted April 19, 2005 Check the OS permissions of the file. The owner fmserver should have read and write permissions, and the group fmsadmin should have read and write permissions.
